Andrea Balanzoni

Andrea Balanzoni is the Chairman of Versalis Pacific since December 2022 and Managing Director of Versalis Singapore since August 2022.

In these roles he led the reshaping and enhancement of Eni’s chemical company presence in Asia Pacific, with the aim to increase the strategic focus on region and foster sustainable growth.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Balanzoni was Executive Vice President and Co-Representative Director of Lotte Versalis Elastomers Co. Ltd., a 50:50 joint venture between Versalis and Lotte Chemical. He began that position in September 2016, to lead completion, start-up and expansion of LVE’s industrial and business operations across Asia.

Before moving to Korea, Mr. Balanzoni led Versalis Business Development activities where he started and managed multiple corporate strategic development initiatives in Middle East, Asia, Africa and North America. In this position, he coordinated the joint venture discussions and the project analysis, which brought to Eni’s positive Final Investment Decision regarding Lotte Versalis Elastomers in 2015.

He took over the leadership of Business Development in 2014 after serving as Marketing Manager for the Automotive, Adhesives and Thermoplastic Compound elastomers markets since 2012 and as Head of extra-European Polymers Sales since 2010.

Between 2011 and 2013, he also served as Chief Representative of the Polimeri Europa Egypt Liaison Office.

His prior experience includes management and leadership roles in the global marketing of synthetic elastomers as well as in commercial, business analysis, technical service, product development and project management, with specific focus on the global automotive and tire industries. He joined Eni chemical business in 2000.

He holds a Degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Ferrara and a Master’s Degree in Energy and Environmental Management from Scuola Superiore “E. Mattei” - Eni Corporate University.
