Mr. Marcus van Tilborg represents Nouryon as Senior Vice President in Asia, responsible 
for the integrated supply chain, supporting the growth ambitions in the region where currently a third of Nouryon’s
turnover is generated. 
Marcus has been with Nouryon (previously AkzoNobel prior to 2018) for over 30 years. He started his career in 
Research and Development, and held leadership positions in Manufacturing Technology, Operations, Supply Chain, 
and Purchasing. Starting from 2015, Marcus is located in Shanghai, first as Director Integrated Supply Chain for 
the Ethylene and Sulfur Derivatives business. Since 2020, Marcus puts full focus on further developing and growing 
the region as Senior Vice President in Asia.
Marcus serves as an Advisory Board member of Multinational Company Committee of China Petroleum Chemical 
Industry Federation (CPCIF) and Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM). As the 
representative of Nouryon, he dedicates his attention to driving safety excellence, sustainability and innovation for 
the chemical industry in the region.
Marcus graduated as Organic and Polymer Chemist from the Universities of Utrecht and Groningen. He also holds 
an international MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM).
