Chief Representative for Trade Negotiations when China joined the WTO; Secretary-General, Boao Forum For Asia; Director-General, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, International Trade and Economic Affairs Department. He was also the dean of the School of International Relations and Public Affairs of Fudan University, a representative figure of neo-liberalism. In 1973, he studied at the graduate school of London School of Economics, majoring in International Economy. In Sep, 2001, China succeeded in entering WTO after 15 years of negotiation efforts. Mr. Long, Chief Representative for Trade Negotiations from Jan, 1995 till the end, was a primary contributor. During his term as the secretarygeneral of Boao Forum for Asia, he is dedicated to making Boao Forum a most active economic forum, a platform for thinks tanks and world leaders to exchange views. Mr. Long has won the title of “CCTV Annual Economic Figures 2003”. |
