Marcus van Tilborg

Senior Vice President, Nouryon Asia

Mr. Marcus van Tilborg graduated as Organic and Polymer Chemist from the Universities of Utrecht and Groningen. He also holds an international MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM).

Marcus started his career with AkzoNobel in Research and Development, before progressing to the Production and Logistics function. He first took responsibility for manufacturing technology and then moved his career into operations and supply chain. From 2007 he led the Global Purchasing Team for the Car Refinishes business, including sourcing in China. In 2011 Marcus became Operations Director for Automotive & Aerospace Coatings in EMEA and in 2013 he moved to Specialty Chemicals as Director Integrated Supply Chain. As from 2015 Marcus is located with his family in Shanghai, first as Director Integrated Supply Chain for Ethylene and Sulfur Derivatives, a global Business Unit in AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals, now Nouryon.

Starting from January 2020, Marcus puts full focus on further developing and growing the Asia Pacific region and he will represent Nouryon as Senior Vice President in Asia.
