Nicolas is the Regional Vice President for Greater China of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). He leads up EDB’sInternational Operations team in Beijing to facilitate investmentsfrom Chinaand industry growth in Singaporeacross multiple sectors such as renewableenergy, decarbonization, sustainability solutions, digital economy and advanced manufacturing.He is concurrently the Counsellor(Industry)for the Embassy of Singapore in Beijing. Nicolas has served in the Singapore government and diplomacy sectorfor over a decade. Prior to his current appointment, Nicolas was with Singapore’s national space office, the Office for Space Technology & Industry (OSTIn), as the Deputy Director for Strategy, Policy and International Relationsfrom 2022 to 2024. He represented Singapore in bilateral and multilateral engagements on space matters, such as the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) and ASEAN Sub-Committee on Space Technology and Applications (SCOSA). Before his OSTIn appointment, Nicolas was Cofounder & CEO of F-drones, a company developing autonomouscargodelivery drones for more efficient and sustainable maritime logisticsbetween2019 and2022. Under his leadership, the company raised close to $3 million from institutional investorsandcontinues to develop proprietary fixed-wing electric vertical take-off and landing drones(eVTOLs)today. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Nicolas also played an instrumental role in the transformation of Singapore’s Marine & Offshore industrywith the EDB. He was previously based in China and Australia as EDB’s Regional Directorbetween 2013 and 2019, facilitating investments into Singapore across various sectors. His first role in EDB was at the New Technologies divisionbetween 2009 and2013, where he was responsible for the initial strategy behindthe setup ofOSTIn. |
