Dr. Danxiang Han is Founder/CEO of Demeter Biotech (Zhuhai) Co., Ltd., and professor at the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB-CAS). Dr. Han obtained her PhD degree in 2006. From 2006 to 2014, she worked a postdoctoral research associate and then assistant research professor at Arizona State University in the United States. In 2015, Dr. Han was selected into the Hundred Talents Program of the CAS and joined the IHB-CAS, as director and principal investigator of the Center for Microalgal Biotechnology and Biofuels. In 2020, Demeter Biotechnology (Zhuhai) Co., Ltd. was founded. Demeter focuses on the R&D and industrialization of microalgal biotechnology, leveraging synthetic biology approaches and advanced biomanufacturing technology to achieve efficient production and commercialization of microalgal products. The company has received several investments from institutions including Hongshan China Seed Fund. Dr. Han was selected into the 2022 Forbes China 50 Women in Technology.
