Dr. Maoshi Guan

Dr. Guan is Director, Specialty Chemicals – Resins and Coatings, within the S&P Global. He joined IHS Chemical in 2014 and brings over 15 years of in-depth industry experience in surface finishing, automotive, and chemical industries. His current focus is coatings and associated raw materials. He has authored a broad range of reports for the Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH) and Specialty Chemicals Update Program (SCUP). 
Prior to joining IHS Markit (merged with S&P Global in March 2022), Maoshi held various positions at Lacks Enterprises in Michigan, US and Total (China) in areas of research and development, technical support, and business development. 
He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from China University of Petroleum and a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA, US.
