Fuliang Xia is president of Evonik Greater China Region and head of Smart Materials Asia.
Fuliang Xia graduated from Fudan University Shanghai as well as University of Heidelberg in Germany. He firstly worked in managerial positions at former Hoechst AG and Hochtief AG in Germany. In 2002, Xia joined the former Degussa AG (predecessor of Evonik) as business analyst. After that he went through various functions such as General Manager of manufacturing subsidiaries, Vice President of Business Line in Asia as well as Senior VP of Resource Efficiency Segment North Asia. 
In the past years, Xia supported successful implementation of several investment projects in China and has headed the development and implementation of regional strategies of various Business Lines for China and Asia, which enable successful and sustainable business performance in the said growth region.
