Mr. Yang Xiyu is Senior Fellow at China Institutes of International Studies (CIIS), majoring in policy research & analysis on China-US relations, as well as Asian regional security affairs. Before he moved to CIIS in 2008, he was 2006-2007 Pan-Tech Fellow at APARC, Stanford University. As a career diplomat previously, he worked as the Political Councilor in Chinese Embassy in the US, and the Political Councilor in the Chinese Permanent Mission to the United Nations respectively. He also served as the Director of the Office on Korean Peninsula Issues of Chinese Foreign Ministry, during which he initiated and led his office to have drafted and launched "9.19 Joint Statement" in the Six Party Talks, which become the guidance for Denuclearization and Permanent Peace Regime on the Peninsula. He has also been invited as the guest commentator for CCTV and CGTN, since 2009. |
