She owned the Ph.D in climate science from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her research areas are climate system analysis and interactions, climate risk and climate policy. She serves as the co-chair of Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) Study Group since 2020 and member of GCOS Steering Committee since 2015. She led the programme work for Medium and Long-term Science and Technology Development Strategy on Addressing Climate Change of China (2020-2035). She is the chair of the fourth China Climate Change Assessment Report on Scientific Basis, the chair of Committee for Climate Change and Low Carbon Development of Chinese Meteorological Society (CMS) and the vice chair of Committee for Meteorological Economics of CMS, as well as the member of Member of China Carbon Sink Foundation. She has been actively involved in the work of the UNFCCC and IPCC as one of Chinese delegates since 2004. She is the chief scientist of national Key R & D Program. She was selected as the professional technical leader for National Ecological and Environmental Protection and China Meteorological Administration. She was the deputy director general of the Department of Science, Technology and Climate Change of China Meteorological Administration between 2004-2011. |
