Mr Jianliang Tuo is the Vice President and Chief Representative of Evonik (China) Co., Ltd, responsible for the Government and Public Affairs in China.
Jianliang Tuo holds a degree in German Literature and has studied Macroeconomic and Financial Policies at Giessen University in Germany. In 1985, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (predecessor of the Ministry of Commerce), participated in the formulation, implementation and coordination of Sino-German economic and trade policies and had worked for the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Germany for five years. In 1998, Jianliang joined E.ON AG (the holding company of Degussa-Huels AG) as the Executive Representative of China. Since 2002, he has served as the Vice President of Evonik (China) Co., Ltd., responsible for Government and Public
Affairs and has been appointed Chief Representative since 2015.
Jianliang takes an active role in promoting China’s petro-chemical industry in partnering with its foreign counterparts. He has held the position of Deputy Secretary General of the Committee of Multinationals of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF MNC) since 2012. He is also committed to facilitating investment cooperation between China and foreign countries and was appointed Think Tank Expert by the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce in 2015.
