Hak Cheol Shin

CEO, LG Chem

H.C. (Hak Cheol) Shin, the CEO of LG Chem, was born in 1957 and graduated from Seoul National University, mechanical engineering major. He has been appointed as the CEO of LG Chem since Jan. 2019.

Mr. Shin served as a technical service supervisor in 3M Korea in 1984 and joined 3M Philippines in 1995 to work as a managing director of the branch. In 2011, he has been appointed as the executive vice president of 3M.

International Operations, lead the company to be operating globally and the business innovation.

LG Chem's business include petrochemical, high-tech materials, components and biotechnology fields such as new materials, rechargeable batteries, IT & electronic materials, and life sciences, etc.

As a new CEO of LG Chem, H.C. (Hak Cheol) Shin will strengthen the global business operating system to be more efficient in a fast-changing market and lead the corporate culture to take a further step forward in becoming a global innovative company.
