Li Lei is Vice President and Regional Head, North Asia, of SABIC and Chairman of SABIC (China) Holding Co., Ltd. covering Greater China, Japan & Korea. He is a Board Member at SABIC-Sinopec JV in China (SSTPC), and the board member of MNC committee of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) and AICM (Association of International Chemical Manufacturers). He served as the chairman of the Global Methanol Institute (MI) Board of Directors. A native of China, Li Lei is a veteran in the chemical industry with over 30 years of experience in a variety of leadership roles with leading global companies. Li’s experience includes sales, business development, technology licensing, M&A, as well as P&L leader, country head and JV board members. He has held senior positions at Sinochem, Owens Corning, Rohm & Haas /Dow Chemical, Monsanto/Solutia, and Lurgi. Prior to joining SABIC, he was Vice President, Du Pont China Holding Company. Li Lei serves as a board member for the Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM), MNC committee of CPCIF (China Petroleum and Chemical industry Federation) and Western Returned Scholars Association of China. He is a frequent keynote speaker at various forums. Li Lei studied and worked in Europe and North America for seven years before returning to China in 1994 and again in 2006. He holds a bachelor degree from Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology (1982) and a MBA degree (1992) from The Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. |
