Marco Mensink is Director General of Cefic since May 2016. With a team of 160 and members adding over 550 billion Euro to the EU economy annually, Cefic is the largest industry sector representation of its kind in Brussels. Cefic unites 22 national federations, 8 associate federations and 650 members and affiliates from all over Europe. It hosts over 70 different sector groups. Virtually all large global and local chemical companies with production facilities in Europe are Cefic members. Marco Mensink has chaired and is a member of ICCA, the global Chemical Industry Council, which covers over 90% of the global industry. Key focus in his role is to be the interface between the industry and policy makers, NGO’s, the innovation networks and scientific community and media. Marco Mensink has an extensive network of contacts within the three key European institutions and has served on several European Commission High Level Groups. Marco Mensink is representing industry on the Management Board of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki and has chaired and is member of the Alliance of Competitive European Industries. |
