Weiguo Lu

Sustainability & Public Affairs APAC，Covestro Vice President

Weiguo Lu was appointed Head of Sustainability and Publics affairs APAC region at Covestro as of July 2021. He provides leadership to the sustainability agenda of the company in the region and manages relationship and initiatives with the public stakeholders. 

Based in Shanghai, China, Weiguo also serves as a member of the Covestro China management council and partners with businesses and functions to drive sustainable business development and regional advocacy programs.

Weiguo has over 20 years of industry experience covering various business and management roles including sales, marketing, circular economy and general management. Prior to his current leadership role, Weiguo was Head of Covestro’s BU Coatings and Adhesives and Specialties in Greater China region from 2015 to 2021. Before joining Covestro, Weiguo worked for Axalta and DuPont in the coatings and building material business units for 13 years. 

Weiguo’s earlier career with the Chinese ministry of commerce and the related working assignment in Germany enriched his insights for policies and regulation dynamics from the public sector.

Weiguo holds an MBA degree from Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences in Germany and bachelor degree of Beijing Foreign Studies University. He is married with two children.
