Li Yalan

International Gas Union President

Madam LI Yalan is the incumbent President of the International Gas Union (IGU) (2022-2025), and an outstanding icon for the Chinese gas industry.

Mdm. LI Yalan was the CPC Party Secretary and Chair of the Board of Beijing Gas Group. She led the company’s efforts in increasing city-wide natural gas consumption from 180 million cubic meters to 18bcm, making remarkable contribution to the gas development in Beijing. The Natural Gas Utilization Project of Beijing has earned Jeme Tien Yow Award, the highest award in China’s civil engineering industry. LI Yalan came as the first-place winner.

With more than 30 years seasoned experience in the gas industry, and as a long-standing Deputy Councilor of China Gas Association, she was elected as one of the “Top 40 Energy Leaders in 40 Years’ of Reform and Opening Up”.
