Alvin Hu

WACKER China President

With more than 25 years of experience in multinational companies, Alvin is a chemical industry veteran.

Alvin Hu started his position as the President of WACKER China in May 2023. Meanwhilie, he has a global responsibility as Head of Business Unit Functional Additives (S-F), WACKER SILICONES. He is also the Chairman of the acquired Sico Performance Material Co., Ltd.

For the seven years prior to 2023 (2016-2022), Alvin was the Vice President of WACKER China, taking charge of the Polymers and Silicones businesses successively. His earlier responsibility has included General Manager of WACKER’s joint venture WACKER Dymatic Silicones Co., Ltd as of 2009 and Chairman of the board from 2014.

Alvin joined WACKER as Business Director for Silicone Sealant business in 2002. Before that, he was China Senior Marketing Manager in GE Plastics.

Alvin is a Chinese. He was majored in Chemical Mechanical Engineering and obtained his MBA degree in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Alvin is married with one daughter. He loves outdoor sports such as Golf.
