Mengting Yu

BASF Vice President, Direct Procurement Asia Pacific

Mengting Yu was born in Zhejiang Province, China, in 1986. She obtained her doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, USA, in 2013 and a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University, USA, in 2020.

Since she joined BASF in 2013, Mengting Yu has held various functional and business roles in North America and Asia. She has developed outstanding execution capabilities in business development and transformation.

Mengting Yu is Vice President of Direct Procurement Asia Pacific at BASF. Her responsible scope in procurement includes Performance and Functional Materials, Dispersions and Resins, Energy, Utilities and Basic Chemicals.

Mengting Yu was previously the Director in charge of Global Product & Business Process Management and Asia Marketing of Automotive OEM Coatings Business from 2022 to 2024. She was Staff to Executive Board Member of BASF SE from 2021 to 2022, prior to which she was Global Project Manager for 2 years driving the Procurement Excellence Program for the Catalyst Business. In her early career, Mengting spent 5 years in Heterogeneous Catalysis Research & Development prior to her project management and business experience.
