Jianguo LIU is a tenured professor in Tsinghua University, vice dean of the Xiuzhong College, and the director of the Division of Solid Waste Integrated Management in the School of Environment. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of International Waste Working Group (IWWG), as well as senior member of several national academic and industrial societies for solid waste management and resource recycling in China, such as the chairman of Lightweight Packages Recycling Branch of China National Resources Recycling Association, member of the Urban Environmental Sanitation Committee of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and vice chairman of the Waste Recycling Committee of the China Society of Natural Resources. His research fields include Municipal Solid Waste classification strategy and treatment technology, and technology development and system analysis of waste valorization. He is the author of about 180 peer-reviewed papers and the leading scientist for several key R&D projects in solid waste treatment and valorization.
