Xiao Xuezhi, Chief Scientist, the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment; Member of the Stockholm Convention Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC), Vice Chairman of the Expert Committee of the National Coordination Group for the Implementation of the Stockholm Convention and the National Coordination Group for the implementation of the Mercury Convention (China), member of the Expert Committee of the Inter-Ministerial Coordination Group on the treatment of emerging pollutants.

With a background in applied chemistry and environmental chemistry, he has been engaged in international cooperation in ecology and environment protection and in the implementation of international environmental conventions for more than 30 years, and has rich experience in the negotiation and implementation of international environmental conventions, especially those related to the elimination, reduction or management of toxic and harmful chemical substances.
