Melinda is Vice President of US-China Business Council (USCBC) and leads its Shanghai Office.She has worked at USCBC since 2016 and has progressively advanced through the organization, including roles in Business Advisory Services and then leading its Shanghai government affairs team. She spearheads USCBC’s work engaging with municipal and provincial governments across China, while helping businesses navigate policy and regulatory changes that impact China’s operating environment. Melinda has played key roles supporting US companies at critical times. She has facilitated members’ re-opening efforts during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, supported member exports of PPE from China, and helped members’ foreign staff navigate the complex process to return to China.

By helping member companies stay abreast of Chinese policy and regulatory changes affecting the business environment, Melinda strongly supports US businesses operating in China and promotes Chinese local economic development at the same time. Melinda communicates regularly with senior managers of US companies on operation and investment issues in the Chinese market, covering a wide range of areas including macro environment, business planning, government policy, decarbonization and climate etc.

Prior to joining USCBC, Melinda worked as a project leader in the telecommunications industry, where she managed marketing for household broadband, brand operations, and cross-platform strategic collaboration for a major telecom operator. Melinda also studied at Johns Hopkins -Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies. She is married and has a daughter.
