Hashimoto Osamu

President & CEO, Mitsui Chemical Co., Ltd.

Hashimoto Osamu was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1963. After graduating from the faculty of law of Hokkaido University in March 1987, he joined Mitsui Chemicals Inc.(formerly Mitsui Petrochemical Industries,Ltd.).
He has successively held positions in the Ichihara factory, the Human Resource Department, the business planning department, the planning management department of functional chemicals division and other departments of Mitsui Chemicals. In April 2014, he served as the senior director of Mitsui chemicals and general manager of the planning & coordination division functional chemicals business sector; in October 2014, he served as the senior director and the general manager of corporate planning division; in April 2015, he served
as the executive oficer and the general manager of corporate planning division; in April 2017, he served as the managing executive oficer; in September 2018, he served as board director, managing executive oficer; and in April 2019, he served as board director, senior managing executive oficer. Since April 2020, he serves as the president and CEO of Mitsui Chemicals.
